Thank You, God


  

 إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

Indeed we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we will return (2:156) 


A few nights ago, I was checking the videos that I downloaded on my tablet and tried to delete some of them so I could free some of the space. I was stunned to come across one of the videos that I saved. It was a conversation between a son of a famous Indonesian footballer and a former MTV VJ. He was sharing how he coped with the loss of his dad. 

"If one day, someone comes to you and leave you with an iPhone and says, you can use this phone until he comes back again to get it from you. You are free to use the GoPay or GCash credit in it as much as you'd like. What will be your answer to him?"

"Of course, you'll say thank you"

"So I take the phone and and then I use the phone and the credit as much as I want until that person comes back again and ask me for the phone back. If you were me, What will be your answer?"

"Again, you'd say thank you right?". 

He then went on saying that it was exactly how he felt when he lost his father. His father belongs to God and when the time comes that he would have to return him to God of course he would be grateful and say thanks. 

I was stunned after watching the video. 

Today is papa's 40th day since he passed away. We have said our goodbye to him and are happy that he is no longer in pain. However, we still feel this pain in our hearts to think that we will now continue living without him, without his jokes, without his signature dishes or his joyful laughter when we teased him. I would certainly miss hearing his voice in our morning video calls from the hill as we wait for the sunrise. 

Today is papa's 40th day, I just wanted to say thank you God for giving us him. Now that you have taken him back, we're sad but, we still thank you as well God, for letting us 'borrow' him, all his life and the time that we were so lucky to spend with together. 

We all belong to you and to you shall we return, o' God. 

Goodbye pa. We will miss you always.

 Dikalahkan Pasar Lagi? Ternyata Tidak! Tahun ini, sebuah kejutan kecil terjadi. Setelah beberapa tahun sebelumnya IHSG selalu unggul, kali ini portofolio saya justru berhasil sedikit mengungguli IHSG. Perjalanan Investasi di Tahun 2022 (Part 4)

Tidak terasa tahun 2022 hampir berakhir. Tiba saatnya memantau status perjalanan investasi selama tahun ini. Perjalanan investasi saya tahun ini cukup menarik dan tentu saja memberikan banyak pembelajaran.  Tingkat inflasi naik membubung tinggi sepanjang tahun. Pemerintah Amerika harus menaikkan suku bunga untuk menekan dan menurunkan laju inflasi ini. Akibatnya terjadi perpindahan dana dari aset saham ke aset lainnya seperti obligasi jangka pendek, deposito ataupun emas. Pasar saham Amerika pun jatuh cukup drastis. Bagaimana Cara Mengatur Portfolio Investasi kita?

  Saat saya menulis blog ini, kondisi bursa saham di Amerika masih terkoreksi, suatu istilah di pasar saham yang berarti harga jatuh drastis dalam waktu yang singkat, dan penurunan harga ini diprediksi masih akan terus berlangsung dalam beberapa waktu ke depan. S&P 500 (SPY), sebuah indeks saham yang terdiri dari  sekitar 500an perusahaan besar di Amerika telah mengalami penurunan sebesar 20% sejak awal tahun. 3 July 2022 Para analist memprediksi penurunan masih akan terus berlangsung dalam waktu yang akan datang mengingat tingkat inflasi per Juni 2022 masih tinggi di angka 8.6%.
